Meanings and Metaphysical Properties of Stones:

1- Garnets:
Traditional January birthstone and accepted gift for the 18th wedding anniversary.

It is considered good luck to receive a Garnet as a gift. Native American Indians used red garnets as bullets, believing that they would seek blood and inflict a deadlier wound. In the Middle Ages, Garnet was used to ward off harm and increase chivalry, loyalty and honesty. Garnet has always been considered insurance for travelers against misfortune. It was worn by the crusaders as an aid to safely find their way home.
Traditional Healing Properties:

Health, awareness, commitment, removing negativity, regeneration, order and insight. The red stones are used to stop bleeding. Also used to cure inflammatory diseases and smooth discord. Many early cultures believed that garnets were helpful in preventing and curing blood disorders and infections.

Purple Amethyst has been highly esteemed throughout the ages for its stunning beauty and legendary powers to stimulate, and soothe, the mind and emotions. It is a semi-precious stone in today’s classifications, but to the ancients it was a “Gem of Fire,” a Precious Stone worth, at times in history, as much as a Diamond. It has always been associated with February, the month the Romans dedicated to Neptune, their water-god, and is the traditional birthstone of that month. It is the stone of St. Valentine and faithful love, and signifies ecclesiastical dignity as the Bishop’s Stone. Peridot clears the heart and solar plexus chakras, helping to eliminate negative emotions of fear, guilt, anger and blame with a gentle loving energy.

Peridot supports spiritual growth, helping to bring to conscious awareness attachments which are no longer serving. Peridot protects the aura, and wards off the evil eye.

Peridot assists those seeking spiritual truth and enlightenment.

4- Opal
Opal is a stone of inspiration which enhances imagination and creativity.
Opal has a larger proportion of water in it than most stones and is considered a water stone. This can help ease the effort of handling change in life. Like water rolls over and past rocks and roots in its way, the energy of opal can help continue on your path regardless of obstacles. During times of transformation, this is an invaluable energy to work with and hold close to your heart.

Mentally, opal is said to enhance memory. It is also used to decrease confusion.

5- Basalt
Basalt is a stone of strength and courage, it allows one the opportunity for stability throughout changes in their life. If you are going through a lot of shifts in your life then basalt would be a helpful stone for you. Basalt helps to diminish the negative aspects of one’s character and allow us one to see where modification of your character can be helpful.

6- Howlite
Howlite has an extremely calming energy and can be used to relieve anxiety, tension and intense emotions. It is said to be able to calm the mind reducing fretful thoughts and helping you to relax in preparation for sleep or meditation. If you suffer from insomnia, caused by racing thoughts at bedtime, a piece of Howlite placed under your pillow or grided around your bed may help.

Howlite is said to help calm unreasonable anger, either your own or that directed at you. Carrying a piece around with you, in your pocket, can act as a shield against rage and can encourage reasoned and calm communication.

Howlite is thought to help you become aware of your goals and ambitions and to aid you in achieving them. It is also said to encourage patience, to reduce a tendency to over criticize and to promote selflessness.

In healing Howlite is believed to help balance calcium levels, aiding teeth and bones.

7- Quartz
Clear Quartz produces a force field of healing negative ions while clearing the surroundings of positive ions, protecting the aura. It dispels static electricity, and cancels out the harmful effects of radiation and radioactivity. [Melody, 505]

Moonstone is also the stone of love and eroticism, stimulating the kundalini energy and carnal desires. It is the ultimate fertility crystal. 9-Tiger Eye
Tiger’s Eye is a stone of protection and was traditionally carried as a talisman against ill wishes and curses. It is both a grounding and uplifting crystal and can encourage feelings of self-worth and confidence in our own abilities. It can promote a positive attitude, assist us in accomplishing our goals and help us to recognise our own talents and abilities.
Tiger’s Eye is said to enhance our own personal power, release blocked creativity, and to bring good luck, prosperity, wealth and success.
Tiger’s Eye can be used to help balance the Solar Plexus Chakra.


10- Black Obsidian: “Apache Tears Good Luck Stones”
These pieces of Obsidian which i put on my art . Are found in Arizona in the foothills of Apache Leap Mountain, one of the town’s special attractions is “Apache Tears Good Luck Stones”….. This semi-precious gemstone is a Merikanite Obsidian, nature’s glass in rounded shapes from pea size to softball size. Found only near Superior, Arizona USA, its smoky brown hue is semi-transparent when polished and held up to light. It is the ONLY obsidian nodule that can truly be called an Apache Tears Good Luck Stone!

Black Obsidian is a very protective stone. It is said to form a shield against negativity and to absorb negative energies from the environment. Because of this it should be cleansed regularly in running water.

Place Black Obsidian on the Base Chakra for grounding.

In healing Obsidian is believed to reduce the pain of arthritis, to help joint problems and to ease cramp. It is also said to aid digestion.

11-Nantan Iron Meteorites
“The Stone of Astrologers”
Nantan Meteorites is a meteorite that was said to have fallen in the year of 1516 AD. It is said that meteorites were messages, or messengers, from the Gods, since they dropped down from Heaven. However, they are also known to contain the souls of loved ones, or of minor deities. When it comes to Nantan Meteorite, no other meteorite compares to its identifiable octahedral structure as containing 89% iron and 6.8% nickel. They are one of the most rarest witnessed iron meteorites to fall upon Earth. However, they are commonly purchased today for quite a good penny.

Along with its chemical composition, it has a very unique, yet highly powerful energy vibration which places  the wearer in contact with the cosmos where he/she can defy logic and the imagination. meteorite is very beneficial throughout the activation of the consciousness shift.
